Software Engineer

Pufferfish Displays

At Pufferfish Displays, I worked as a Programmer and Software Engineer. My main responsibility was to develop applications for a spherical touch screen display from design phase to release. These apps would be commissioned by clients for various events or to make a permanent display. The content of such apps varied from pharmaceuticals to climate change to mobile phone networks. I had the pleasure to work with many top companies around the world such as 49ers, Android, Ericsson and VYMLR. Most of the apps I developed were done so through the proprietary editor known as PufferBuild. some more complicated and bespoke apps also were developed in C#. I even had the honour to have developed apps for clients at COP28.

Over my time at Pufferfish, I developed over 20 applications for clients, sometimes juggling 3 clients apps at the same time. During development, I would be the main point of contact for clients and managing the project. this means regular meetings with clients, discussing feedback and changes, and working closely with the graphic design team on UI. As Pufferfish was a small company of roughly 20 people, I was also the QA tester and engineer for my assigned apps, writing test plans, bug reports and acquiring excellent debugging skills.

My role was expanded to include helping with the development of the editor itself which was written in C#. While working on Pufferbuild, I would create new tools for users, create UI for the tools using WinForms and bug fix any issue that was brought to me.

While at Pufferfish I improved my skills in C# and coding design while learning new skills such as FFmpeg, XML and working in an Agile Methodology.
